Church Receptionist Volunteer

As a Church Receptionist Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors and members of our church. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the first point of contact for anyone entering the church premises or reaching out by phone. By providing exceptional customer service and administrative support, you will contribute to the smooth operation of our church office and help facilitate effective communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Reception Duties:
  2. Greet visitors warmly and assist them in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and transfer calls to the appropriate staff.
  4. Provide information about church activities, services, and events.
  5. Maintain a tidy and organized reception area.
  6. Administrative Support:
  7. Assist with general administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  8. Manage incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring prompt and accurate distribution.
  9. Update and maintain people management systems, including contact information.
  10. Assist with the preparation and distribution of church communication including, newsletters, and other communication materials.
  11. Communication:
  12. Serve as a liaison between church members, staff, and visitors, relaying messages as needed.
  13. Respond to email inquiries and manage the church's general email account.
  14. Assist in connecting church staff and pastors to members and visitors.
  15. Special Projects:
  16. Provide assistance during special events, as requested.
  17. Collaborate with other volunteers and staff members on various church projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Comfortable using basic office equipment, such as telephones, computers, and printers.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office for basic administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge of the church's mission, values, and programs.
